HOMEOPATHY

Homeopathy, a healing science, is a highly systematic, scientific method of alternative therapy that has stood the test of time.   It is effective for all ages and many health problems. In existence for more than two hundred years, this elaborate medical science is widespread throughout Asia, Europe, Central and South America, Africa, and Australia and is validated by more than two hundred scientific studies. Homeopathy's safety and effectiveness has led to a resurgence and a growing acceptance in the United States as part of the movement towards alternative medicine.

Homeopathy works on the Vital Force, the innate ability of the body to heal itself.   It's strength is based on a deep understanding of the person as a unique whole, comprising of their mental, emotional, and physical aspects. Homeopathy strives to heal from within, reaching down to the very depths of vitality to the source of illness and the body's inherent desire to resist it. The powerful instinct of self-preservation stimulates the individual to reach a state of internal balance, and therefore optimum health.

Homeopathic medicines and remedies are formulated entirely from plants, minerals, and animal sources, etc.   They are non-toxic, non-addictive, with no side effects. They also work well in combination with other methods of therapy. These medicines are highly effective against both acute and chronic diseases.

A visit to a homeopathic doctor involves an elaborate, in-depth interview process and detailed physical examination, addressing all major and minor symptoms of mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.   Included in the analysis of the person are unique personality traits (things peculiar, rare, and strange, etc.), health behaviors (diet, sleep, and exercise routines, etc.), societal, professional, and familial life and relationships (including sexuality), psychological health (dream patterns, cravings and aversions, goals and ambitions, fears and phobias, moods, habits, sensitivities, etc.) and physical health (appetite, thirst, bowel movements, urination, menstruation, energy level, etc.).   This information elucidates the individuality of the person and helps in identifying and addressing the root causes of health problems.

While homeopathy has traditionally been formulated, tested and used in the promotion and maintenance of human wellbeing, it is also known to be very effective in the treatment of animals.   It is widely recognized amongst pet owners, farmers, and veterinarians as a safe, effective remedy for baffling illnesses where non-homeopathic remedies have been unsuccessful.

Homeopathy offers a safe with no side effects, non-toxic, non-addictive, and effective alternative approach to health care for the entire family.

Guidelines For The Use Of Homeopathic Medicines

First and foremost, your homeopath's instructions and advice regarding use of medicines are to be followed at all times.
  1. Homeopathic medicines come in various forms, including both internal and external.   Internal forms include pills, tablets, and liquids; external forms can be ointments, lotions, salves etc.

  2. Tablets / Pills are sweet and/or bland in taste.   They should always be placed under the tongue, and sucked like sweets or candies.   At no time should they be chewed, swallowed or taken with water or beverages.   In special circumstances, where one is unable to suck tablets, tablets may be chewed or dissolved in filtered water into liquid form.

  3. Scents and smells do not agree with these medicines; therefore, medicines should be kept and stored in the packets / bottles provided with them, and stored in and near clean, dry and odorless containers and places.   Some places medicines should not be kept in or near are refrigerators, cupboards or spaces where odorous chemicals or agents are kept. Because medicines often look alike, at no time should they be kept/mixed in the same container.

  4. Pills can be taken on a clean and dry palm, and consumed immediately.

  5. At time of consumption, patient's mouth should be clean and odorless.   Because food and drink intake, and tooth brushing with toothpaste, cause odor within the mouth, it is necessary to gargle and rinse at least 4 times , with plain water, immediately preceding pills consumption.   After consuming homeopathics, one should wait for 5 minutes minimum before eating, drinking, rinsing, taking other medicines (i.e. no oral intake for 5 minutes after).   In special circumstances, where the patient is unable to gargle, drinking at least 6 sips worth of clean water is advised.

  6. Timeliness of medicine intake, as advised, is important.   If not possible to strictly adhere to your homeopath's advised   timings, leave at least 5 minutes between taking any two doses.

  7. Consuming and doing things which do not agree with you should be avoided.   Please consult your doctor before changing or modifying prescribed medicine routines.

  8. Homeopathic medicines can be taken along with any other methods of therapy, except other internal homeopathic medicines (meaning that external homeopathic medicines are okay).   Please consult your doctor if you have questions.

Things That May Interfere With Homeopathic Medicines

Consumption of caffeine, alcohol, recreational drugs, and tobacco (including cigarettes, cigars etc.) Use of camphor, menthol, and eucalyptus (deep heating rubs like Vicks, Ben Gay, Tiger Balm, tea tree oil; Noxema ä products; etc)

note: as a general rule, if the distinctive smell of camphor is not present, the product is most likely safe to use. Places not suitable for medicine storage include: in direct sunlight; in wet, damp, odorous places; in refrigerators; in containers mixed with other medicines; with mothballs etc.
